Toast was founded in Madison, WI in the fall of 2013 by husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Gili and Molly, with a simple idea: bring something a little different to Madison’s food cart scene.

Inspired by Gili’s Israeli roots and the popular panini-style cafés found throughout Israel, Toast was created around hot-pressed paninis, fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and homemade sauces that make every sandwich stand out. What began as a food cart with a cultural connection quickly became a Madison favorite.

More than a decade later, our mission is still simple: serve seriously delicious food made with fresh ingredients, unexpected flavor combinations, and our signature homemade sauces. Every panini is pressed hot and made to order, because we believe food-cart food should be every bit as memorable as the experience that comes with it.

Along the way, Madison has shown Toast a lot of love. We’ve taken home multiple 1st and 2nd place awards at Taste of Madison, were named the 2016 “Best of the Taste of Madison” winner, and earned 2nd Place for Best Food Cart in Madison Magazine’s 2017 Best of Madison awards. Toast has also been featured on Madison CW’s The Restaurant Show.

Since 2013, we’ve been pressing paninis, making sauces, and serving up a little taste of Toast, one sandwich at a time.
